Professional biography
Dr. Florencia Segura is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a native of the Northern Virginia area and a native Spanish speaker. Before joining Einstein Pediatrics in 2018, Dr. Segura completed her pediatric residency training at Children's National Medical Center in Washington D.C. and practiced as a Primary Care Pediatrician for three years at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In her role as an attending pediatrician at CHOP, she taught the University of Pennsylvania medical students and CHOP pediatrics residents during their primary care pediatrics rotations.
Dr. Segura is recognized as a "Top Doctor" in Washingtonian Magazine. She mentors and teaches new pediatricians undergoing training at INOVA Children's Hospital. Dr. Segura is very passionate about medical education and brings this enthusiasm for teaching to her patients. She takes a special interest in new parents, newborn care, childhood nutrition, eczema management, and adolescent health. She has been an expert contributor to numerous parenting articles in Parents Magazine, Healthline, Romper, the New York Times, and VeryWell Family.
Dr. Segura resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, a local dermatologist, raising their two energetic young children while drinking lots of coffee! In her free time, she enjoys running, learning new easy recipes to cook for her children, and spending time with both of their families!
