Dr. Florencia Segura is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a native of the Northern Virginia area and a native Spanish speaker. Before joining Einstein Pediatrics in 2018, Dr. Segura completed her pediatric residency training at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She then practiced as a Primary Care Pediatrician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where she taught the University of Pennsylvania medical students and CHOP pediatrics residents during their primary care pediatrics rotations.

Dr. Segura is recognized as a "Top Doctor" in Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine and was awarded Primary Care Pediatrician of the Year by the Inova Children’s Hospital pediatric residents in 2024. She takes a special interest in new parents, newborn care, childhood nutrition, eczema management, and adolescent health.

Dr. Segura is deeply committed to medical education. She mentors and teaches new pediatricians undergoing training at INOVA Children's Hospital as a continuity clinic preceptor and primary care lecturer. She also contributes expert, evidence-based pediatric advice to national media outlets including Parents Magazine, Healthline, The New York Times, and VeryWell Family while also serving as a member of the What to Expect medical review board.

In May 2024, Dr. Segura and her family experienced the sudden, unexpected death of their third child, 18-month-old daughter, Rosalie “Rosie”, due to Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). Now, she serves as an ambassador for the SUDC Foundation, raising awareness, lecturing nationally, and advocating for increased research funding. Dr. Segura is also an active member of the AAP Section on Child Death Review and Prevention.

Outside of her clinical and advocacy work, Dr. Segura enjoys spending time with her husband, a local dermatologist, raising their two living (soon to be three) energetic young children- often with a cup of coffee. In her free time, she enjoys running, learning new easy recipes to cook for her children, and spending time with her family!

Dr. Segura looks forward to forming long-lasting relationships with you and your family at Einstein Pediatrics!
