Professional biography

May is a native to the Northern Virginia area and returned after completing her training in Philadelphia. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, May worked as a Registered Nurse for four years in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).  She served as the chair of the breastfeeding committee and served as the breastfeeding resource nurse champion of the Cardiac Center at CHOP. 

 

May has been recognized as a Daisy Award Recipient after being nominated by patients and families at CHOP. She is passionate about children’s health issues and also served on

on the Quality Practice/Patient Safety County (QPPS) Board to help incorporate evidence based-practice to improve nursing and patient care.

 

May takes a special interest in newborns and breastfeeding, maternal postpartum care, and asthma management.  She is board certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and is an active member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing and the National Association of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.  May is also fluent in Cantonese Chinese. 

 

May resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and young daughter.  When not caring for families at Einstein or chasing her toddler around, you will often find May outdoors on walks with her family, exploring the local farmers markets, or in the kitchen baking a new recipe.  May has been a part of the Einstein Pediatrics team for over many years, her favorite part of the job is seeing her patients grow throughout time.  It is her joy to care for Einstein families and see their children flourish from infancy to college!
